Walk with a DOC

About the Walk: Thinking about improving your health? Walking has the lowest dropout rate of any physical activity, according to the American Heart Association. Walking is low impact and is easier on the joints than running. In addition, research has shown that you could gain two hours of life for each hour of regular exercise. UMC would like to invite you and your family to our monthly “Walk with a Doc” program. There are countless benefits to making walking part of your fitness regimen and now you can walk with some of our local physicians and other healthcare professionals who will be providing general health education. Each walk features a “Top Doc” who opens the event with a brief 3-5 min health talk and then accompanies participants on a 30-45 min walk.

Featured Physicians: Participating physicians are from a variety of fields such as Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and Surgery.
