Angels on Wheels Poker Run to Benefit UMC’s Pediatric Trauma Center
Hop on your Harley and go hog wild to help the children of southern Nevada! The Angels on Wheels Poker Run, benefitting UMC’s Pediatric Trauma Center, starts with a $25 dollar entry fee at the Henderson Harley Davidson, located at 1010 W. Warm Springs Road, at 8:00 am on Saturday, September 26th.
“UMC’s Pediatric Trauma Center provides world class medical care to kids in our community who have been involved in a traumatic accident. I want to thank the people of Clark County for supporting UMC because the people who work in that hospital save lives everyday,” said Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly. Along the motorcycle ride, bikers will be handed playing cards to complete a poker hand. You don’t even need a poker face to win because the worst hand pays $250 dollars! If you happen to be dealt the best hand, you win $1000 dollars.
“Best of all, the Angels on Wheels Poker Run will be helping the most injured children who come to UMC for their care. This is a great way to ride your bike, play some poker, and know you made a difference for a child,” said UMC Foundation Board Member Bridget Edwards.
UMC is home to Nevada’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center caring for children with life threatening injuries. Our staff is standing by 24-hours a day to receive, stabilize and treat pediatric patients whose lives are threatened by multi-system, brain and orthopedic injuries. Our expert pediatric specialists, combined with state-of-the-art equipment, give our youngest patients the greatest chances of survival. UMC’s Pediatric Trauma Center cares for almost 900 children a year, providing them with a second chance at life.
