UMC's Level I Trauma Center is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and consists of:
- 11 Resuscitation beds
- 14 ICU beds
- 3 surgical suites
- Angiography suite
- CT scanner
The Trauma Center staff includes:
- 10 Trauma surgeons
- 20 Emergency physicians
- 8 Neurosurgeons
- 15 Orthopedic surgeons
- 8 Anesthesiologists
- 2 Trauma Fellows
- 1 Critical Care Fellow
- Registered Nurses
- Surgical residents
- Medical students
Trauma Registry
In 2004, The Trauma Center treated 11,683 patients and had 3,165 admissions.
Fourteen (14) percent of the patients treated at the Trauma Center were transferred from other facilities.
