In 1999, the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons approved UMC’s oncology program as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program, a recognition given to no other hospital in Nevada. This Center offers treatment for all forms of cancer, participates in national cancer research and meets patients’ emotional needs through several support groups. Patient care is team focused and involves a multi-specialty approach to coordinate the best treatment options.
