Serious signs of teenage depression include:

  • A change in appetite and sleep patterns
  • Loss of interest or enjoyment in usual activities
  • Prolonged sadness
  • Withdrawal from friends
  • Feelings of worthlessness
  • Lack of energy
  • Poor school performance
