- Hiring Bonuses
Offered for certain positions.
- Consolidated Annual Leave (CAL)
Full- and part-time employees begin acruing CAL time immediately based on the number of hours worked. CAL time is used for vacation, holiday, sick and personal time off.
- Extended Illness Bank (EIB)
To be used for employee hospitalization, or illness that results in an absence of more than 16 consecutive work hours.
- Medical/Dental/Vision/Prescription Coverage
UMC offers two plans for employee and dependent coverage: Clark County Self-Funded or Health Plan of Nevada HMO.
- Basic Life Insurance
UMC provides basic life insurance for each employee dependent on the number of hours worked.
- Retirement (Pension) Program
Membership in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). UMC pays the full contribution of your base pay each pay period.
- No FICA Withdrawal
As a member of the PERS system, UMC does not withdraw FICA.
- Tax Deferred Annuity Program
Provided by Hartford Life, UMC employees may make a pre-tax contribution through payroll deduction to this deferred compensation plan.
- Tuition Reimbursement
UMC will contribute up to $1,000 for work-related courses.
- Nurse Training Programs
Training programs are open to emergency, critical care, perinatal, trauma and surgery nurses as well as new nursing school graduates.
- Longevity bonus
After 8 years of service, UMC offers a portion of the employee's salary as a bonus.
- Employee Assistance Program
Counseling services available for employees and their immediate family members at no cost.
