The goals of Physical Therapy are to relieve pain and restore optimal movement and function of patients affected with orthopedic, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, pulmonary or skin disorders. Through evaluation and individualized treatment programs, physical therapy can treat existing problems as well as provide preventative health care for people with a variety of needs. Physical Therapy can improve strength and mobility through specific strengthening/conditioning programs, including exercise and modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, pool therapy and electrical stimulation as well as the use of orthotic, prosthetic or assistive devices. Goals are achieved through individualized treatment methods, in addition to patient and family education.
