Office Hours Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended evening hours are available some days of the week. A physician is always on call for emergencies during the evenings, weekends and holidays.
Appointments Please let the receptionist or nurse know the reason for your visit so that enough time with your physician can be scheduled. If you have a problem that requires prompt attention and your physician has no available appointments, please describe your concerns to a nurse. Every effort will be made to work you into the schedule as soon as possible. Please plan to arrive at the clinic 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment and check in with the receptionist. If you are going to be late, please call and inform the staff.
Fees & Billing Our clinic accepts most insurances offered in the Las Vegas area as well as Medicare, Nevada state medical assistance (Medicaid) and Clark County social assistance. The Wellness Center also receives federal funds from the Ryan White program for people living with HIV/AIDS who do not qualify for other programs. Our office staff will help direct you to the appropriate agencies to apply for these programs.
Hospital Care If you need to be admitted to University Medical Center, your care will be directed by one of our inpatient HIV specialists. These physicians will inform your outpatient primary physician of your hospital care. Upon discharge, you will once again follow up with your chosen primary physician.
Clinical Research UMC's Wellness Center serves as the center for HIV/AIDS clinical research for the Clark County area. In addition to in-house clinical trials, The Wellness Ceneter functions as the focal point for community-wide researach into new HIV/AIDS therapies as well as research into the behavioral and psychosocial problems which affect persons with HIV/AIDS. Our clinical pharmacist, Dr. Dennis Fuller, assists in supervising HIV/AIDS clinical trials.
