Children's Health Basics

As the school season comes and goes, the foremost worry on every parent's mind is child safety. They wonder about whether their kid will get a cold this year or get hurt playing in the backyard. Nothing hurts us more than seeing a child in pain, so it is best to take steps to prevent illness and injury whenever possible without sheltering the children too much. Unfortunately, children are subject to the same diseases as adults, but injuries tip the scale as far as visits to the doctor.
Children get skinned up, bruised and cut; they fall, stumble and trip; and they also do things that put them in situations to be hurt because of a lack of judgment. It is impossible to keep an eye on your child every second, but it is necessary to keep a close eye on them as much as possible. Most children have experienced a cut or a bruise, but with some proper safety measures a permanent injury can be prevented.
Here are some tips to keeping your child safe during activities:
Make sure your child has the proper safety equipment for the occasion. For example, when they are riding a bike, make them wear a helmet
Keep your child away from fireworks and never let a child light fireworks. Fireworks cause more eye injuries in children than any other incident.
Stay alert and know where your child is at all times.
Know the kids that your child is playing with. Make sure that your child's friend is not a bad influence.
